christina giallourakis, j.d., c.h.h.c.
As a certified holistic health counselor, consultant, healthy cook, and educator, Christina Giallourakis offers an integrated approach to nutrition and wellness for individuals, organizations, and schools in the DC metropolitan area. Christina helps her clients achieve optimal health and real wellbeing through integration of proper nutrition, regular fitness routines, and a balanced lifestyle.
Christina earned a B.A. in International Relations from Tufts University and a J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. Before she became a holistic health and nutrition counselor, Christina was living in Washington, DC, and worked as an attorney for five years, specializing as an immigration litigator and policy analyst.
While practicing law, Christina witnessed her mother’s six year battle with cancer. During this time, she became intrigued about the connection between food, fitness, lifestyle and health. Ultimately, she became convinced of the remarkable benefits that a path of nutritious foods, healthy cooking, consistent workout routines and positive lifestyle changes could bring. Inspired by her mother, a former educator, artist, and author, Christina decided to become a social entrepreneur.
Christina graduated from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition where she immersed herself in nutrition theories from across the globe. She founded Inspire Nutrition™ with the goal of “inspiring” and instilling sustainable nutrition and balanced lifestyles. Christina has also completed many courses in health supportive cooking at the Natural Gourmet Institute for Food and Health.
Christina is completely focused on her clients. Christina is supportive, committed, fun to work with, and can usually be found cooking, reading, researching and devising solutions for her clients.
our sustainability efforts
Inspire Nutrition™ is committed to educating its clients -- institutional and individual --
about the food-related aspects of environmental responsibility.
Inspire Nutrition™ is committed to environmental sustainability
in the following ways:
- Inspire Nutrition™, introduces
its clients to the importance of locally grown
and produced foods. We do this by teaching our
clients how to find locally grown and produced
foods during our grocery store tours. In addition, we help
our clients seek out and support local farmers markets
which sell locally grown and produced foods. Our
monthly cooking demonstration attendees receive a
list of local farmers markets in Washington, DC,
Maryland and Virginia. We also take clients
to farmers markets upon request.
- Inspire Nutrition’s™ clients and those who
attend cooking classes are educated about the importance
of purchasing organic foods as much as possible.
The ingredients used at our cooking demonstrations
are predominantly organic.
- We educate our clients about avoiding heavily
packaged products and buying fresh foods instead
of frozen. These two topics are emphasized during
grocery store tours.
- We encourage and educate our clients about the
health and environmental sustainability benefits
of eating less meat.
