Tuition: $45 per person
When: all classes are held on tuesdays from 7-8:45pm. please register no later than two days before the class.

Cancellation: if you have decided to cancel your reservation or need to re-schedule, please call us at 202-669-5330. all cooking class cancellations must be made 3-days prior to the cooking class date. any cancellation made 3-days prior will be refunded or credited for a different cooking class. in the event of cancellation within the 3 day period prior to the cooking class date, no refund will be possible.
intro to tempeh

This ultra-nutritious soy food, native to Indonesia, is packed with protein and B vitamins. Because of its nutritional value and culinary versatility, tempeh is a great staple to have in your kitchen. Christina will help you learn how to make the most of its flavor and texture. She will show you how to get it from that vacuum-sealed package into several fabulous meals.

We will also discuss sustainable fish and what that means; how to shop for fish; and how much to incorporate into your food routine as well as what kinds of questions to ask when you are eating out. fresh from the garden: cooking from the source with a tribute to local organic farmers

This class will focus on seasonal, organic ingredients from a local farmer. The fresh and seasonal ingredients that can be found at the market will determine the menu. You’ll learn to improvise than solely rely on recipes. Market purchases will include a bounty of produce, as well as eggs and dairy. We will focus on techniques to prepare a balanced seasonal meal. The best part: sitting down and enjoying and savoring everything!

mediterranean magic

Are you ready to be transported to the Mediterranean? There's nothing to pack except for your eager appetite. On this trip you will learn how to make a fabulous Mediterranean inspired menu laced with the freshest flavors, herbs and spices. The recipes we make will comprise a vegetarian, well balanced meal.
We will also discuss the Mediterranean Diet and touch on the cuisine of different Mediterranean countries. You will learn the best of the Mediterranean tradition - whole grain breads, wild greens, tasty fish, savory seasonings and succulent fruits. Come learn how to incorporate all of these into one meal!

crazy for coconuts

This class will focus on a meal with a coconut theme. The coconut is one of the most nutritious fruits. (We will also discuss why the coconut is so controversial.) Coconut is available in many different forms and there is no end to what you can make with it. We will make an entire meal using coconut water, coconut oil as well as fresh, dried, and canned coconut. Come and get crazy for coconuts!

This is our favorite class of the year! We all experience sugar cravings. At this class, learn how you can dramatically reduce these cravings by eating particular VEGETABLES!
Certain vegetables have a deep, sweet flavor when cooked. Learn how to cook these vegetables and why they are able to reduce sugar cravings. We will also discuss which vegetables are associated with the fall and winter season.
