“Christina's efforts through Inspire Nutrition™ are not only admirable they're from the heart. I approached her based on a flyer I saw posted in a coffee shop. I had recently converted to vegetarianism and wanted to be sure I was meeting my nutritional needs. Christina was quick to respond and our first free-of-charge consultation was fantastic. I have a PhD in Food Science, so I already have a solid background in nutrition and consider myself a hard sell, but she sold me. She was attentive, practical and proactive. We started working together soon thereafter and the experience has been nothing but positive and she has delivered. We have been exploring lots of vegetables, grains, and other plant-based foods that in some cases I hadn't even heard of and in others I had, but was completely lacking in the skills to utilize in my diet. Each week we work together to prepare 2 - 4 unique dishes and all the while Christina coaches me on their nutritional benefits of the ingredients and how to use them. I highly recommend Inspire Nutrition™ to those seeking nutrition and cooking advice!”

“I first sought out Inspire Nutrition after a wave of sinus infections left me frustrated and interested in whether there were other holistic ways to approach my health. Tired of nasal sprays and antibiotics, I wanted to explore the way that my food choices could impact my health. While I have been a healthy eater my whole life, I had recently moved to DC and was finally cooking for myself. I found myself in a "food rut" –grilled chicken and a vegetable were my staple dinner and I was getting bored and lacked ideas of what else to cook. Christina was wonderful to work with and I literally enjoyed every meal that we made together. Thoughtful, attentive, fun and a great teacher, Christina made sure that we didn't just cook the food together, but that I learned something about all of the ingredients we were using. The 12 cooking classes have truly changed my outlook on health and food, and have changed the way that I eat. The world of foods that Christina opened me up to is fascinating. What I loved about Christina's classes was how customized they were; if there was something I wanted to cook, we would cook it. Since I stated with Christina I have not gotten sick at all; her anti-cold remedies of leafy greens, onions and garlic have worked time and time again. I have also noticed slight weight loss, as well as an overall desire to exercise more and maintain my overall health. I find that eating healthy also makes me want to make healthier choices in other areas of my life (more sleep, more exercise etc…). I am also cooking more and am learning to plan my meals out over the week to ensure that I do not need to make a trip to the snack machine or out to purchase a snack at work. Overall Christina has changed my outlook on food, cooking and health. She is a wonderful dedicated teacher and I recommended her to everyone. Even if you are an experienced cook there is always more to learn. ”

“The thing I like best about the six
month program is the reinforcement. My health counselor
understands that it’s not easy to make the
right health choices so the constant reinforcement
really helps me stay on track.”

"I'm feeling good since we last met. I've
been cooking more - just thinking more about what
to make, what I have in the house, how I can get
it started early enough . I've also been better about
exercising. It all feels really good. Thanks again
for helping get my mind, body, and spirt back on
track!"

"The tour of Whole Foods really opened my
eyes. I learned about new foods that I would not
have tried unless they had been pointed out to
me. I had questions answered about foods that I
had been wondering about and my health counselor
helped me identify some quick, healthy meals that
I can buy when I get busy."

me how to cook quick, delicious, healthy dishes,
it also provided great information on which type

of fish.”

"My 15-year old son and I attended Christina's Quick Vegetarian Meals class in spring 2008. My son is a serious cook, and I manage a nutrition training program for physicians and other healthcare givers, so we consider ourselves a discerning audience. We loved it! Christina's nutrition information was, in my opinion, accurate and useful, her style engaging and amusing, and the recipes delicious. We made the black bean enchiladas taught in the class at home the next weekend--an instant family favorite. I took the scant leftovers to work, where everyone asked for more, and for the recipe! I believe there are fashions in food like in everything else, and Christina is right in style, with her focus on easy, healthy, sustainable and delicious cuisine. She's a Washington, DC treasure!"
- Jo Cooper Food As Medicine Program Manager The Center for Mind-Body Medicine
"I have always loved Indian food at restaurants, but have been mystified by how to combine the spices and ingredients to make it at home. After attending Christina's class, I have a much better understanding of the cuisine. Through a mixture of demonstration and participation, we created an entire meal and enjoyed it together. Christina took the time to give knife skills tips, information on how to use spices, as well as a tutorial on various ingredients. Thank you for the wonderful class and information!"
"I encourage everyone to sign up for this class and others offered by Christina. She is a wonderful instructor who allows you learn through all 5 of your senses, plus she always provides you with recipes, places to shop, storage techniques, and ingredients you can substitute. She also networks with the 'green' community extensively and is a big champion of local independent businesses, including farmers' markets."

"The couples cooking class was educational, fun AND tasty! We will definitely make some of the recipes again. I was particularly interested to get to try quinoa--one of those "Whole Foods" ingredients that intrigued me but I had always found a bit daunting.”
